In 1984, Ronald Reagan, God bless him, declared July National Ice Cream Month. The International Dairy Foods Association points out his wisdom: “He recognized ice cream as a fun and nutritious food that is enjoyed by a full 90% of the nation’s population.” Now declaring a National Ice Cream Month is sort of like having a Puppies Are Cute Awareness Day or a Let’s All Breathe Air Week. Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against ice cream or those who need a month to appreciate it, but this July, I am saving my affection for Norman Croteau’s inner demon art at City Market; skater Chris Pastras’ solo show at Pursuit Gallery; and Aiden Doane’s encaustic work at VCAM. Guided Tours
Burlington City Arts offers walking tours led by staff and volunteers who are knowledgeable about each space and can answer questions about the exhibitions. Tours leave from the Firehouse Gallery every half hour, starting at 5:30PM and ending at 7PM. Tours last about an hour and visit exhibitions within walking distance of downtown.


Post-Walk Event
After the walk, head to Red Square where you can take in a cocktail and Tatiana E. Zelazo photographs representing three of life’s prevalent aspects: freedom, violence, and magic.
