Through June 8: “Actors and Exorcists: Masks of Sri Lanka”: In the exorcism dance rituals and folk plays of Sri Lanka, devils, animals, and humans are represented by elaborately carved and painted masks. The masks in the Museum’s collection were acquired in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and include animals, village characters, and supernatural beings.

Through June 1: “Michael Light: 100 Suns”: San Francisco photographer Michael Light brings together photographs of atomic explosions carried out by the U.S. in the 1950s and 1960s. By re-photographing and presenting these images in exhibition format, Light explores the photographs’ cultural context and examines the nuclear landscape and its profound effect on both our past and our future.

Through June 8: “Soft Machines and Hard Science: The Interstitial Art of W. David Powell”: Powell’s installation of his digital prints alongside historic scientific instruments reflects his fascination with the human mind and body and our own relationships with science and healing.
